SalvationWHY DO I NEED TO BE SAVED?
God loves you. He wants you to have a personal relationship with Him, but there is one thing that separates you from God--sin. Sin is our failure to measure up to God’s holiness and His righteous standards. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 |
BaptismWHY BE BAPTIZED?
Those who are baptized are following Jesus’ example and obeying His command. “As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.’” Matthew 3:16–17 |
Growth TrackWHY GO THROUGH GROWTH TRACK?
Growth Track is a vital step for getting involved here at Living Word Church. Growth Track is a five-week, pre-service class covering the basics of Christianity. It is a stepping stone to membership and service. If you want to know more about our church, grow in your faith, become more involved at LWC, serve in different areas of ministry, and ultimately become a member of Living Word Church, these classes are designed just for you! |
MembershipWHY BECOME A MEMBER OF LWC?
When an individual accepts Jesus as his/her Lord and Savior, he/she becomes a member of the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:13). Because that person is now united to Christ and the other members of the body in this way, he/she is qualified to become a member of a local expression of that body. To become a member of Living Word Church is to formally commit oneself to an identifiable, local body of believers who have joined together for specific, divinely ordained purposes. These purposes include receiving instruction from God’s Word, serving and edifying one another, participating in the ordinances (Luke 22:19; Acts 2:38-42), and proclaiming the Gospel to those who are lost (Matthew 28:18-20). In addition, when one becomes a member of a church, he/she submits to the care and the authority of the biblically qualified pastors that God has placed in that assembly. |
