Membership
1. WHY SHOULD I BECOME A MEMBER OF LWC?
When an individual accepts Jesus as his/her Lord and Savior, he/she becomes a member of the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:13). Because he is united to Christ and the other members of the body in this way, he is therefore qualified to become a member of a local expression of that body. To become a member of Living Word Church is to formally commit oneself to an identifiable, local body of believers who have joined together for specific, divinely ordained purposes. These purposes include receiving instruction from God’s Word, serving and edifying one another, participating in the ordinances (Luke 22:19; Acts 2:38-42), and proclaiming the Gospel to those who are lost (Matthew 28:18-20). In addition, when one becomes a member of a church, he submits himself to the care and the authority of the biblically qualified pastors that God has placed in that assembly.

2. WHAT IS OUR MEMBERSHIP COVENANT?
- Having put our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord, and celebrated the new birth through water baptism, and affirming the Statement of Faith of Living Word Church, we desire as the body of Christ to enter joyfully into a covenant with one another.
- We will work together, striving for the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace
- We will walk together as brothers and sisters in Christ, loving one another, encouraging one another, and praying for us all to continue to become conformed more perfectly into the image of the Lord Jesus.
- We will commit to making the assembling of ourselves a priority for ourselves as individuals and our families.
- We will rejoice with each other in happiness and we will, with tenderness and sympathy, care for those among us who are hurting. Our desire is to be the hands and feet of Christ to those who are fellow members of Living Word Church.
- Finally, we will work together for the furtherance of the Gospel in our community, state, and around the world. We will strive side by side for the sake of the Gospel and the Glory of our Lord, the only one worthy of our full love and devotion.
